Background

Sophary Wong is a budget analyst for NIMHD. Her primary responsibility is to assist in monitoring the Institute’s Research Management and Support (RMS) budget. In this role, she collaborates with program managers to monitor and review travel and training funds availability and subsequent obligations. She also prepares budget expenditure reports while identifying and resolving budgetary issues. She develops data for use in the formulation and execution of annual budget requests for RMS. In addition, she manages inter-agency agreements, direct CAN citations, and Intra-Department Delegations of Authority to ensure accurate and timely fund obligations.

Ms. Wong was a program assistant for the National Library of Medicine (NLM), National Network Office (NNO). In her role at NLM, she provided essential support during the Eight National Network of Libraries of Medicine and National Training Center Contract re-competitions and yearly budget renegotiations by reviewing contract proposal submissions for budget accuracy. She also prepared numerous funding scenarios to assist the Head of NNO in analyzing and allocating Medical Library Assistance Act funding availabilities for each region by gathering data, as well as formulating and executing budget requests, budget amendments, deferral actions, and proposed recessions.

Ms. Wong received a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD.
