Dr. Gulam Muhammed Al Kibria is a statistician in NIMHD’s Office of Science Policy, Planning, Evaluation, and Reporting. In this role, he manages and analyzes data and prepares reports to examine NIMHD’s minority health and health disparities research portfolio.

Dr. Kibria previously worked at the Department of International Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where he served as a faculty member (assistant scientist). He managed and analyzed data, oversaw data collection activities, coordinated manuscript development for peer-reviewed journals, developed project activity proposals and reports, and supervised graduate students’ capstone projects. He also worked as a statistician at the Department of Epidemiology & Public Health at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. During his previous roles, Dr. Kibria’s research focused on reducing health disparities, assessing global health, developing health surveys, and cardiovascular disease epidemiology.

Dr. Kibria holds a Ph.D. in epidemiology from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, a Master of Science in Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and a Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery from Comilla Medical College in Bangladesh.
