Background
Dr. Lynne Padgett is a program director in the Division of Clinical and Health Services Research at NIMHD and a licensed psychologist. Her research interests include disability health outcomes, delivery of care in palliative and end-of-life care, aging and older adults including cognitive impairment and maintaining independence, caregiving, disparities in outcomes of cancer survivors, disability and rehabilitation care delivery outcomes and models.
Previously, Dr. Padgett was a health science officer for the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs Office of Health Services Research & Development and a program director in the National Cancer Institute Office of Cancer Survivorship and the Basic, Biobehavioral and Psychological Sciences Branch within the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences. Clinically, she has worked as a health and rehabilitation psychologist, primarily in oncology and hospital medicine with the VA Washington DC Healthcare System, and Kaiser Permanente - Georgia.
Dr. Padgett earned her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Memphis with special emphases in behavioral medicine and research design and statistics. She completed postdoctoral training in rehabilitation psychology at Emory University School of Medicine. She is a fellow of the American Psychosocial Oncology Society.
