Julie M. Anderson is deputy executive officer (DEO) in the Office of Administrative Management (OAM). She serves as an advisor and partner to NIMHD leadership regarding strategy and administrative management, which includes financial management, human resources, information technology, administrative services, management analysis activities, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) activities in coordination with the chief scientific diversity officer.

Ms. Anderson has 13 years of federal service, beginning in 2010 as an office automation clerk/assistant at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service. She transitioned to the NIH as an administrative technician/officer for the Clinical Center and as an administrative officer for the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute on Child Health and Human Development. She joined NIMHD as a chief administrative officer, collaborating with OAM staff, leaders, and institute stakeholders to undertake business process reengineering that resulted in the revision of various standard operating procedures.

In her various roles, Ms. Anderson has mentored numerous federal employees and led the NIH iCommunity of Administration Partners, also known as iCAP, as chair and vice chair. She participated on several NIH and NIMHD staff committees, including Optimize NIH Travel, the COVID-19 Intra-Action Review (I-ART) committee, the I-ART Workforce subgroup, the Simplified Acquisitions Committee, and the Future of Work initiative workgroup, the Enterprise Content Management Program advisory committee, and the Democracy Campus Facility Security Committee. She served in an acting capacity for the DEO DEIA Workshop and the NIMHD Worklife Committee.

Ms. Anderson holds an M.B.A. and a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from the University of Maryland.
