Kennedy Bowen is an operations coordinator for NIMHD’s Division of Intramural Research. She provides administrative, procedural, and informational resources to support the division. She has five years of career experience within highly analytic, results-oriented, and multifaceted departments with advanced expertise in human resources functions, administrative management, and project management within the military and government sectors.
Ms. Bowen obtained a master’s in applied intelligence and strategic planning from Georgetown University. She received her Bachelor of Arts in international studies with a concentration in third-world security and a minor in Spanish from the Virginia Military Institute (VMI).
As an undergraduate student, she worked with the State of Virginia Board of Education as a student researcher, developing and generating a new college-level class for senior-level students in Spanish for diplomacy and defense in Spain. She served as a head committee member for the superintendent’s advisory board and is an Army ROTC three-year scholarship recipient.
After completing her degree at VMI, Ms. Bowen was commissioned into the Adjutant General's Corps (U.S. Army) and is currently serving as talent manager for the Human Resources Command in Fort Knox, KY. Most recently, Ms. Bowen worked on an overseas training tour with the Canadian military, coordinating human resources functions for more than four U.S. and foreign military forces. She has also served as a policy and performance management analyst with the Defense Health Agency.
