Dr. Parisa Meisami is a program analyst at the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) within the Office of Extramural Research Activities (OERA). In this role, she serves as the NIMHD Guide Liaison for the NIH Funding Opportunity Announcement Management (FOAM) system, managing the institute’s Notices of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs) workflows. Dr. Meisami provides technical expertise, guidance, and training for program staff on FOAM while contributing to operational improvements and evaluations within OERA.
In her previous role, Dr. Meisami was deeply involved in teaching, research, program development, program management, and evaluation within the STEM and medicine fields. Her efforts focused on enhancing students’ academic success and workforce readiness, particularly for nontraditional and underrepresented students. She taught courses in research methodology, data science, data visualization, mathematics, and statistics, provided statistical consultation to students and faculty, and mentored graduate and undergraduate students.
Dr. Meisami earned her doctorate in organizational leadership from Northeastern University, a Master of Science in statistics from American University in Washington, D.C., and a Bachelor of Science in Pure Mathematics from Alzahra University.
