Michelle Phillips, Ph.D., CRA

Michelle Phillips, Ph.D., CRA, is a grants management specialist and a Certified Research Administrator at NIMHD. Since 2010, Dr. Phillips has been engaged in multiple sectors of grant management activities: university, sponsored research, hospital, and a federal Granting Agency (NIH) research administration. Dr. Phillips manages a diverse and complex portfolio and has advanced knowledge of pre-award, post-award, contracts, and industry clinical trials.

Crystal L. Barksdale, Ph.D., MPH

Dr. Crystal L. Barksdale is a program director in the Division of Community Health and Population Science at NIMHD, where she manages a diverse research portfolio related to community-, social-, and structural-level determinants and interventions.

Prior to joining NIMHD, Dr. Barksdale was the Acting Deputy Director and Chief of the Minority Mental Health Research Program in the National Institute of Mental Health, Office for Disparities Research and Workforce Diversity.

Sophary Wong

Sophary Wong is a budget analyst for NIMHD. Her primary responsibility is to assist in monitoring the Institute’s Research Management and Support (RMS) budget. In this role, she collaborates with program managers to monitor and review travel and training funds availability and subsequent obligations. She also prepares budget expenditure reports while identifying and resolving budgetary issues. She develops data for use in the formulation and execution of annual budget requests for RMS.

Priscah Mujuru, DrPH, MPH, RN, COHN-S

Dr. Priscah Mujuru manages a diverse research portfolio that includes clinical trials and community-based participatory research involving populations across the lifespan. Her interests include health disparities in women and child health; cognitive function and mobility in older adults; adherence to treatments and medication; and occupational and environmental health concerns. Dr. Mujuru is also interested in capacity building and training projects.

Vanessa Marshall, Ph.D.

Dr. Vanessa Marshall is a Social Behavioral Scientist Administrator (Program Officer) in the Office of the Director at NIMHD. She manages and conducts research to advance public health prevention science. Her research focuses on improving health outcomes and promoting research to understand and address the multilevel determinants of factors that play a role in health disparities.

Yujing Liu, Ph.D.

Dr. Yujing Liu is the chief of the Scientific Review Branch at NIMHD. Dr. Liu’s research is focused on lysosomal storage diseases and neurodegenerative disorders. Additionally, he investigated angiogenesis using mice models. Dr. Liu did his post-doctoral training in human genetic diseases at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK). He then joined the Department of Pediatrics at Georgetown University Medical Center as a tenure-track assistant professor.

Aaron Credle

Mr. Aaron Credle is a program specialist within the Division of Community Health and Population Science. As a program specialist he serves as the lead point of contact for the Institute’s Executive Secretary and coordinates efforts for the science exhibit fair associated with the annual Science Day at NIH. In addition, Mr. Credle assists in preparation of materials for the NIMHD director.

Julie M. Anderson, M.S.

Julie M. Anderson is deputy executive officer (DEO) in the Office of Administrative Management (OAM). She serves as an advisor and partner to NIMHD leadership regarding strategy and administrative management, which includes financial management, human resources, information technology, administrative services, management analysis activities, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) activities in coordination with the chief scientific diversity officer.

Simrann Kaur Sidhu, MPH

Simrann Sidhu is a public health specialist in the Division of Clinical and Health Services Research. She focuses on health disparities at community and population levels. Her research interests concentrate on the role the environment plays in contributing to illnesses, and the choices individuals or groups make to enhance health and prevent disease.

Gina Roussos, Ph.D.

Dr. Gina Roussos is a Social and Behavioral Science Administrator in the Division of Integrative Biological and Behavioral Sciences, with expertise in behavior, attitude change and intergroup relations. At NIMHD, her areas of focus include career development, maternal morbidity and mortality, and vaccine uptake. Previously, Dr. Roussos held postdoctoral researcher positions at the University of Toronto Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, where she explored implicit causality, and in the Department of Psychology at Yale University, where she tested media-based interventions.
