This initiative seeks to fill gaps in understanding of intersectional factors that impact health disparities for persons with disabilities.

This initiative will support innovative, multidisciplinary and collaborative research that addresses health and health care disparities related to non-communicable diseases with the highest disease burden and mortality in Latin America and among U.S. Hispanic/Latino populations and translates into optimal health outcomes across the hemisphere.

Structured Institutional Needs Assessment and Action Plan Development for Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs)

This initiative is to provide research active MSIs with grants to conduct comprehensive and structured institutional research capacity needs assessments and create action plans based on the results.

Addressing Health and Health Care Disparities in Sexual and Gender Minority Populations

This initiative will solicit research to address research gaps in health and health care disparities in sexual and gender minority (SGM) populations.

Understanding and Addressing Misinformation Among Populations That Experience Health Disparities

This initiative will seek to 1) understand the underlying mechanisms and 2) test interventions to address and mitigate the impact of health-related misinformation and disinformation on health disparities and the populations that experience health disparities.
