Supports multidisciplinary research to understand the risk and protective factors and challenges, particularly on upstream factors, affecting NHPI health, and to develop and test interventions and prevention strategies.

Addressing the Impacts of Health Care System, Health Policy, and Clinician Factors on Disparities in Maternal Mortality and Morbidity

This initiative will solicit research to examine and address understudied factors and their impact on disparities in maternal mortality and morbidity.

Spirituality and Religiosity as Psychosocial Determinants of Health in Populations Experiencing Health Disparities

Supports multi-level, multi-domain intervention and observational research that addresses and/or investigates the role of spirituality or religiosity on health and well-being among populations experiencing health disparities. This research aims to understand how spirituality and/or religiosity can best be integrated into comprehensive models of health and health care delivery among populations experiencing health disparities.

NIMHD Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Training (MHRT) T37 Program

Supports research education and training opportunities in minority health and health disparities research for individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those underrepresented in biomedical, behavioral and social sciences, and clinical research.

Health Care Worker Well-Being and Workforce Challenges in Settings Serving Populations Experiencing Health Disparities

Supports research that investigates etiological factors, especially at the systems level, contributing to health care worker well-being and workforce challenges, evaluates the effect of worker well-being and workforce challenges on the health of populations experiencing health disparities, and supports associated targeted multi-level interventions.

Multilevel Pathways and Interventions to Promote Vaccine Uptake Among Populations Experiencing Health Disparities

This initiative will support research examining multilevel pathways at multiple levels and interventions to promote vaccine uptake among populations experiencing health disparities.

Interventions to Reduce Sleep Health Disparities

This initiative will support non-pharmacological interventions to promote sleep health, reduce sleep health disparities, and examine sleep as a modifiable factor to reduce health disparities for other health outcomes among populations that experience health disparities.

Interventions to Address Disparities in Liver Diseases and Liver Cancer

This initiative will support community engaged, multilevel, and multidomain intervention research to reduce disparities in liver diseases and liver cancer among populations who experience health disparities in the United States.

Housing Instability Among People Living with HIV/AIDS From Populations That Experience Health Disparities

This initiative will support innovative, collaborative, and multidisciplinary research to understand the intersections between housing, care seeking and treatment behaviors of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH) experiencing housing instability and identify effective strategies for engaging them in attaining optimal HIV care and prevention.

Advancing Health Care for Older Adults From Populations That Experience Health Disparities

This initiative will support innovative research to advance the science and implementation of diagnostic and clinical care guidelines, shared decision-making to enhance care planning and patient agency, and effective strategies for coordinating care.

Youth Violence Prevention Interventions

This initiative will support research to develop and test multilevel youth violence prevention interventions for populations experiencing health disparities that include strategies that address structural discrimination and other social determinants of health.

Innovative Health Disparities Solutions for American Indian/Alaska Native Small Businesses

This initiative supports small business innovation research proposing to develop a product, technology, and/or service for commercialization to improve American Indian/Alaska Native health, further research, and build the workforce for reducing and ultimately eliminating health disparities.

Mechanisms and Interventions to Address HIV-Related Comorbidities in Populations Who Experience Health Disparities

This initiative supports research to examine mechanisms and interventions to address HIV-associated comorbidities among populations experiencing health disparities.

Understanding and Addressing Health Disparities and Health Care Among Rural Populations

This initiative seeks to address gaps in scientific knowledge and support research that addresses multilevel and multiple domains influences related to health disparities experienced by people who live in rural communities.
